GeeCON 2022: Jan Lahoda - The Future of Java is Today

The Java platform experiences an outburst of cool fresh features – fresh features added to the Java language include multi-line string literals, simple data carriers and pattern matching. Many library and Java Virtual device features were added as well, and many more features are in the pipeline and are actively worked on. This includes value classes for the Java virtual machine, and ability to interconnect Java and native code. These features are delivered quickly, thanks to the late adopted, predictable, six-months agenda of major Java SE releases. This fresh release cadence means fresh Java platform features are delivered twice all year! In this talk, we will show a live demo of many of the late added and recently developed features and improvements for the Java platform.
