„Software is hard” was written by Donald Knuth. We, nevertheless make it even harder by focusing our efforts in the incorrect directions. rather frequently due to the fact that we think(!) we follow good practices. What truly we do is simply a cult, sometimes even a „cargo cult”. In the talk I will present any examples of wastes and cults that we do in everyday activities. This includes estimates, tests, agile meetings and architecture of our systems. We proceed on doing any practices, even though we have completely lost first intention or the planet has changed so much that they are not needed any more. I will give any hints how to admit specified „cults” and destruct them from your projects.
