Oasis shared a heartfelt tribute to Edinburgh through social media "postcards" just hours before their final Murrayfield performance on Tuesday. The Gallagher brothers posted an Instagram slideshow featuring 13 video clips set to "The Masterplan", capturing their favourite moments from the weekend's sold-out concerts.

The tribute showcased quintessentially Scottish moments that resonated with fans worldwide. Among the highlights was a young lad playing the bagpipes and supporters excitedly jumping through the Murrayfield stadium gates, alongside footage of a fan helping himself to a traditional roll and square sausage.

Viral moments captured

The viral scenes of the "hero" Murrayfield steward, nicknamed Polly by fans, featured prominently as she enthusiastically danced while holding directional signs. Additional heartwarming footage showed a young fan rocking out on someone's shoulders and a couple embracing with drinks raised towards the stage.

The final clip captured a couple outside the stadium slow dancing to "Champagne Supernova" as fireworks erupted over Murrayfield. Empty crates of Tennent's lager piling up for recycling and the Red Arrows flypast from Saturday evening also made the carefully curated tribute.

Over 400 fans commented on the slideshow, with one writing: "Memories to last a lifetime." A second fan shared: "Went on Saturday. It was unbelievable! Best night of my life. BIBLICAL."

Historic Scottish return

The Tuesday concert marked the end of Oasis's first Scottish performances in 16 years. The three Edinburgh concerts represented a triumphant return after more than a decade away, demonstrating the enduring connection between the band and their Scottish fanbase.
