Poland at full fiber: the benefits of the Disaggregated Access OLT, to meet the European Digital Agenda mark - STEFANO FOGLI - Director, Technology and Solutions, EMEA at Adtran

Poland’s fibre access (FTTH/B) marketplace has already gained crucial momentum. Over the next 5 years, many more homes and businesses will transition from copper-based to fiber-based services, and many of these will be based on 10Gbit/s PON access technologies, boosting the digitalization of the full country. This shift presents fresh method challenges for Polish network operators, specified as deploying fibre in both dense and agrarian areas, accommodating the steady increase in bandwidth per user, and reducing the overall power footprint of the network. At Adtran, we have a long-standing past of successfully navigating these challenges, providing comprehensive support across Europe to operators at all levels. In this session, we will research the method challenges of nationwide "fiberization" and show why a disaggregated optical line terminal (OLT) architecture, akin to those utilized in modern data centers, is the most effective approach. We will besides discuss the crucial aspect of cost-effectively monitoring deployed fibre assets.
