Sharing experience of deploying IPoDWDM, section Routing and EVPN for SP transport networks - GEORGE KADEISHVILI


Using 100/200/400G CFP2/QSFP-DD ZRP pluggables allowed us to rapidly deploy lambdas over existing DWDM networks of various vendors: Cisco, Huawei, ZTE, Nokia, ECI to dramatically increase bandwidth and resiliency in the beginning of war in Ukraine. Introducing section Routing in existing MPLS networks opened number of capabilities like Inter-Domain section Routing Traffic Engineering utilizing SR-PCE controllers, while maintaining resiliency of Unified MPLS (BGP LU). Sampled Netflow of SR-labeled traffic allowed collection of very accurate Traffic Matrix, key component of precise What-If analisys. L3 VPNs have been governed by MP-BGP from the very beginning. Now, with EVPN, E-Line and E-LAN services can besides be brought under control of BGP. Moreover, EVPN magically interacts with SRTE BGP Automated Steering and On-Demand Next Hop.
