Spotify added a record 38 million monthly active users in the final quarter of 2025, reaching 751 million total. The streaming platform surpassed analyst expectations with revenues of 4.53 billion euros, driven by its biggest Spotify Wrapped promotion yet.

The Swedish technology business reported revenues of £3.95 billion for the three-month period, marking a 7% year-on-year increase and 6% growth from the previous quarter. The company was buoyed by strong user activity throughout the quarter.

Record Wrapped Engagement

The 2025 Spotify Wrapped campaign engaged more than 300 million users. The annual year-end feature generated over 630 million social media shares, making it the platform's most successful Wrapped promotion to date.

Premium subscribers reached 290 million for the quarter, representing a 10% increase year-on-year. Overall monthly active users grew by 76 million compared to the same period in the previous year.

Leadership Transition

The results mark the first financial report since founder Daniel Ek transitioned from chief executive to executive chairman. Alex Norstrom and Gustav Soderstrom jointly replaced Ek in the top leadership role.

Ek commented on Spotify's evolving identity: «Today, what we've really built is a technology platform for audio – and increasingly, for all the ways creators connect with audiences. And this identity will matter even more going forward. The next wave of technology shifts – AI, new interfaces, wearables, new ways of interacting with content – these will reshape how people discover and experience audio and media.»
