When I started my career in IT, although I would now have called it a career at that point in time, alternatively ‘my first programming job’, seniority was something strictly describing coding proficiency. Starting with a junior, up to a senior, were gradation of said method capability. Nowadays things have shifted: A single coding stone star or ninja, regardless of method prowess can seldom deliver, keep and support a large-scale enterprise strategy or service. Thus seniority can be seen as maturity - a individual that is not just technically capable of delivering software but besides doing so in a manner which exerts a affirmative impact on its surroundings. Come to my talk to perceive how we specify seniority at Tesco Technology and how it's a derivative of our Mission, imagination and core behaviours.
